Terms of use
Short, and written so the limits are visible rather than buried. The most important one is that the model gets things wrong.
1. Who you are agreeing with
ngpt.ng is operated by Ranked Technologies Ltd (RC 9522220), a company registered in Nigeria. Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.
2. The model will be wrong sometimes
NGPT generates text. It does not know things. Like every language model it can produce output that is fluent, confident and false, and it can do that in Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo and Nigerian Pidgin as readily as in English.
Nothing it produces is legal, medical, financial or professional advice. Do not act on it in a matter that carries real consequences without a competent human checking it first.
We publish benchmark results, including the ones where NGPT loses, precisely so nobody has to take our word for how good it is. Read those rather than trusting a demo.
3. The playground
The playground is a free public demonstration with no guarantee of availability. It is rate limited, capped in size and restricted by origin, and we may change or withdraw those limits at any time to keep the endpoint usable for everyone.
You must not use it to generate unlawful content, to harass anyone, to attempt to extract or clone the model, to route another product's traffic through it, or to circumvent the rate limits. It is a demo, not an API you have bought.
Do not paste anything confidential into it. See the privacy policy for how the text is handled.
4. Benchmarks and claims
Where we publish evaluation results we state the method, the date and the model versions used, and we publish the cases NGPT loses alongside the ones it wins. Numbers describe a specific version of a model on a specific test on a specific date. They are not a promise about how any model behaves on your task.
5. What is ours and what is yours
The site, its writing, its evaluation methodology and its published results are ours. You may read, quote and link to them with attribution, including in academic and commercial work. You may not republish them wholesale or present them as your own.
Text you type into the playground stays yours. We claim no rights over it and we do not train on it.
Model weights, where released, are covered by whatever licence is published with the release. That licence governs, not this page.
6. Availability
This is free and provided as-is. We do not promise uptime, we may change or remove features, and the playground in particular may be unavailable while the machine behind it is doing something else.
7. Limits of our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from the use of this site or from reliance on anything a model here produced. Where we are found liable despite that, liability is limited to what you paid us for this service, which is nothing.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction. Before anyone goes to court, write to support@ranked.ng. Most things are solvable in an email.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
